Are rebates a con? You know those rebates that companies offer when you buy a phone or computer. The ones you have to post in to get cash back. I bought a phone from Verizon a few months ago with a $100 mail in rebate. I was told to mail in my receipt with a signature and I would get the $100 back. Anyway, I didn't get it back and when I phoned them they told me I was to suppose to sending the box with the receipt. I told them I didn't have the box anymore and they said sorry but it was in the small print and I will now lose my $100 rebate. It just seems like a contrived com to me!
