Anyone ever eaten raw Sugar Cane?

At the Jay-Z concert I went two recently there was Caribbean stall selling jerk chickenm rice & peas and raw sugar cane.

Me & a girlfriend had some - not too bad.

I had some many years ago - before my finding of sugar cane jeans!

you don't eat it. you peel back the outer casing and chew on the fiberous middle. i tried it once and got a bunch of nasty little fibres stuck in my throat.

I didn't actually mean 'eat it' (To be fair I did say 'eat it').
We chewed & sucked, but didn't swallow!

Me!!! but not raw sugar cane...crushing some sugar cane on your mouth and the taste of the sugar is not so sweet but it taste good and you need to spit out the fiber after.
