would you spend say 30% more on clothing and food if you knew the extra money would go to help someone living in the thrid world?

yes, if i could be absolutely sure the money was going to where it was needed and not to finance the lifestyle of an executive or pen-pusher.

it would be better if the brands matched our contribution. so if we pay 30% extra the brands donate 60% etc to a fair trade group.

The big brands won't put there money where their mouth is! THey're not going to reach into their pockets! THey'll leave it to the little people like us to try to solve world poverty. In the same way Bono, Geldoff and that annoying twat Chris Martin do. Twats the lot of them!
