Changing careers

I was wondering if anyone has ever changed their career? By that I mean - did you ever imagine you would end up doing what you are doing now or did you have plans to do something else?

I saw that ikkyu was planning on becoming an investment banker but is now involved with various labels.

I wanted to be involved with graphics/fashion brands but am now a driving instructor.

At school/college/uni what did you want to be? (NO funny answers PLEASE!!!)
What are you doing now? (Again no funny answers!)

What were your reasons for changing careers (or planned careers)??

Worked for a bedding firm for 20 years straight from school real dead end job,left school with no gcse.
went to college studied for 3 years at night for heating & ventilation
got c&g level 3 and now corgi registred working for local firm.
so if i can do it anyone can.

I studied to be an Architect. Last month I started a new job as a Bond Analyst in the city.

studied to be in the IT branche... trained to be fullprof handballer.. now doing both :p

trained as a microsoft tech. did it for a year and hated it. now back at uni doing business studies.
