LOL those same modern SUV's that often pump out less polutants and carconogenics than 10 year old standard hatchback and saloons?

I doon't hear the liberals complaining about the millions of acres of rainforest being chopped down to plant biofuel crops in South America when these trees cut C02 levels, bunch of hypocrit liberals.

Don't agree with them (but not necessarily on a green issue).
Farms and off roading FINE. Driving in cities - should be banned. Our roads aren't designed for these types of vehicles - they are too big. It should be made illegal to use them on schools runs aswell.
If people are allowed to drive them then they should be trained to drive a larger vehicle. Dangerous for people not in one - especially pedestrians (and especially for children)!

the vast majority of suvs burn far far more fossil fuels than standard 1 litre to 1.6 litre hatches regardless of their age. the average suv does around 15 mpg and the average hatch around 30 mpg so a really floored argument. suvs are a clear representation of someone who is selfish and has NO class.

maybe the USA SUV's. All the Audi Q7s and Mercedes MLs have way better milage then old cars.
Before banning SUV's, you should start banning all those nonsense cars they drive in the USA.
edit: ofcourse not ALL the cars in the USA :p. but you catch my drift

what's the mpg for "Audi Q7s and Mercedes MLs". i thought all SUVs did silly mpg and that was the major issue. the hummer in the usa is just a plain joke for people who can't see beyond the end of their nose. i was speaking with a friend in washington state and he was telling me people in the usa are all down-sizing to smaller cars because of $4 petrol

i wish we had £2 petrol here.

Who mentioned mpg? Look at the gasses being put out exhausts from 10 year old hatchbacks as I said far worse than a new ML or Range Rover Sport etc Read a few science reports on the matter if you are unaware of this.
