What is style?
Style is having a strong sense of self and the ability to break fashion boundaries whilst remaining elegant. Women who are stylish are like chameleons with an unadulterated passion for fashion that allows them to play a myriad of roles through the way the dress.

Who is your favorite style icon and why?
Marchesa Luisa Casati and Jacqueline Kennedy are my favorite style icons - reflecting different eras of history and representing modern glamour, silver screen elegance, and great style. Luisa Casati ignited fine art and high fashion in a blaze of idiosyncratic wonderment.

What are your favorite shops around the world and why?
My favorite shops are Tracey Ross in LA (+310 854 5887), she has a lovely selection of Chloé bags; Colette in Paris (+33 (0)1 55 35 33 90); and in London The White Company (tel 0870 900 9555) and for food Simply Organic home delivery service (www.simplyorganic.net)

What is your fashion pet peeve?
When people fall in love with something and can't get rid of it and have to wear it all the time - new seasons exist for a reason! My other pet peeve is the visible thong, which is an irony in itself; it kills the concept of people not wanting their underwear to be noticed!

Who would you most like to design shoes for and why?
Roger Vivier - he was the Fragonard of the shoe and his style was so clever. They were positively brilliant and beautiful. Vivier went from extravagant to refined shoes in the blink of an eye.

Describe your ideal day
My ideal day involves a late start! I love spending time with my daughter, Araminta, in the morning before I head off to the office where I can enjoy working on the new collections, discussing the styles and trends with the design team. There is always an innovative, creative atmosphere, which gives your working day a refreshing vibe. I always try to be home for Araminta's bath time and then spend a quiet evening with my husband Mathew. It's precious time together considering how often we are out!

Who would you most like to have dinner with and why?
My husband for the obvious reasons!

Who or what could you not live without?
As above and Araminta!

What is your favorite holiday destination?
Samson Cay in the Caribbean - a dream holiday hideaway island, turquoise blue seas and white sandy beaches.

What is in your bedside drawer?
A Pandora's box! Notebooks, old vintage brooches, colored tissues, Perfect Health by Deepak Chopra and a collection of old alarm clocks hidden at the back.
