am not surprised ,neverless true BUT assumingly they want people to spend their cash in their shops and nowhere else....
maybe I am a bit cynical... but some off it must be the real mccoy though.
i have never sold or bought anything at e-bay and obviously i have heard horror stories but mainly they are from "a friend of a friend" kind of.
if it sounds to good to be true,right...
:?

Loads & loads of fakes on ebay. For Louis Vuitton I would put the figure at 99% (possibly 100%) fake!!
But there are genuine authentic products which are a true bargain!
Retailers are now beginning to see just how big ebay is - it is almost like a 'separate' market place compared to normal online shopping. They realise that they can not afford to miss out on this - alot of retailers/brands now have their own ebay shops (Orange, Canon, HP, Creative, 3 Mobile, Schuh...)
It's just common sense really!!! Use past experience of a brand's/product's details to compare to stuff being sold.

I only recently discovered a local store, by accident, sells on ebay. They are offical stockists of their brands (Ted Baker, Diesel, Polo Jeans Co, Azor, Versace, Firetrap, D&G.....) but sell on ebay! I know it's the shop as the names are too similar and the photos are taken by the changing rooms - you can see the floor tiles, walls etc.
I guess that that is against their contract with the brands??
To be honest I can't see the actual designer brands selling on ebay nor some of the big department stores, but there are smaller stores who sell stock they can't get rid of. And many who sell it on behalf of someone's shop.
IF ebay get their act together and clear up some of the fakes/dodgy sellers etc then I could see more stores selling on ebay to get rid of stuff they can't shift. It is such a HUGE global market place that they can't ignore it. As I say, this isn't gonna happen within the near future unless ebay tidy up their site/sellers. There is a market for it but I can't see 'new' auction sites being able to compete as they can't offer the huge potential ebay has got.
Actually if ebay created a separate mini site for business's (direct from the actual brands rather than stockist/retailers) then I could see this working.

Yeh - I thought they would! That's why I haven't named them.
May have to pop into the store & ask for a discount or else!!
Actually to be fair they were only selling Diesel and Azor (at the time). Might be allowed to sell certain brands but not others!

shame you didnt have a camera phone with u.
cd, that ebay merchant you think could be official might be a ghost store pretending to be an official retailer. i cant believe any official retailer would risk their licence just to sell some scraps on ebay. and apart from potentially losing their licence they would lose their credibility as an official outlet straight away. just seems too far fetch which makes me think its a ghost store pretending to be an official retailer. ive heard they exist on ebay.
