Default G-Star

How do you guys rate G-Star?
Know the topic has just been up.
But went in to one of their stores and couldn't really make my mind up...
Lots of prints and khaki, very military.
I was heavily in to it a few years ago but haven't bought anything for years.
Are they cool or have they gone all high street and boring?
What do you reckon quality wise?
And shape and fit?
Liked some of the slim jeans.
Opinions anyone......

For me, G - Star is still the best, and has been for the last 2/3 years.
Their Elwoods and most of their jackets are hard to beat.
The only way they can ruin their reputation, is like you say, by becoming too ''highstreet''. Also, they should avoid the huge G-STAR branding on lots of their collections.

Yes I think so too. Don't mind small branding(as a matter of fact like it)
big branding prints is to much in your face.

I like the elwoods; saw some pretty cool bonewhite cords that is really nice.
a lot of the jackets seems like they have lost them self in khaki.

I really rate the jeans. Deffo up with evisu's imo. As mentioned the Elwoods are to beat. What i like most about them is the fitting and cut, really spot on. I do agree about the branding though, could be more discreet, but this doesnt bother me too much with the jeans i own because i feel it suits the style.

Not ken myself, don't rate the denim quality and they don't do any smart casual type jeans, looked at many pairs but never seen any I would buy.

some of the top of the range denim is okay but has been seen in discount stores which kind of kills the brand as a serious fashion piece.

I haven't seen them in any discount stores?? Regardless i think it is the look and not the price/which store stocks them as far as style and fashion is concerned. Also i have paid in the region of £100 for my G-Star jeans (i own 3 pairs.) So by paying those prices you cant really say the brand isn't a serious fashion piece.
