I am going to Paris in January, can anybody recommend the best places for designer shopping ( on sale/discount I am only a student!).

isnt paris about haute couture and milan about designer clothing? i heard the vuitton building is a must to see.

been to paris more times than i can remember (mainly footie matches) never bothered with the shops as i figured london is better and on my doorstep. i reckon there must be a host of shops though. is this the vuitton store you are talking about

200 metres from the Louvre is the dolce&gabbana shop.
Rest of the day i tried to find the other good shops, but only saw the eiffeltower.
