best knitwear for winter 2005?

whats the best knitwear for this winter. thinking of getting a john smedley jumper or even a paul smith. any other suggestions?

nautical knits can be colourful but red, white and blue is neither a good color pallete. red and white or blue and white looks more sophisticated.

another good knit is cp company and burberry.

Is it too colourful and too over the top? Is anymore than 2 colours too much for knitwear?

Not really, loads of knitwear is better if striped such as p&s, lacoste and Pringle Argyle jumpers.
