And, incidentally, i thought of a strata of society who have an even more pretentious lexis than either the fashion industry or self-help books... The I.T sector!! Anyone who sells software "solutions" (my father excluded) should be shot.

Yeah, that and all lol. Another one is car advertisements- what a load of bollocks they are. Does anyone actually get influenced to buy a car from viewing these 'cloud-cuckoo-land-esque' ridiculous commercials, with their even more ridiculous 'witty' slogans?! I really do hope not!
Lets just generalise and say all marketing and media is contrived bullshit. Call me cynical.....

Not at all Harry you are spot on in my opinion, that 'designer' cheaper end of denim who normally don't do runway shows for couture clothing etc. I think they are aiming at indentical markets with Diesel trying to also fulfill anothe market os slightly older people with some of their denim.

I also think Diesel is a lot higher than g-star. Where i live and used to live, EVERYBODY buys g-star caus they think its hot or something. Diesel is a little bit more expensive, too expensive for the people who have absolutely no idea. And therefor isnt seen THAT often.

or maybe the other way around....
to clarify: I don't wear them, but do think they are the most innovative high street denim brand out there.

as a "high street" denim brand i agree with you adero. i think ppl have an issue when they try to portray themselves as a top exclusive premium denim brand.
