Default French labels

Is most of the best French stuff made in Italy..? I notice Dior is very much Italian made. Are any high end French brands actually made in France? If nothing French is actually made in France, it begs the question: Why buy French, just go straight to Italian brands!?

french fashion has great couture tradition. ysl is almost a god in france. i think the french unions just about destroyed their manufacturing base so not much is actually made in france. the french are too busy drinking anyway.

unions are essential to restrain the capitalist monster. the problem is really shitty people end up running and then ruining the unions so they become just as reprehensible as the capitalist monster they are suppose to restrain. long live thatcher!

well it is down to thatcher that there is no strong union movement left in this country!
which is sad and ironic when they(labour unions) were actually invented here.

imo its down to scargill that the unions are in the mire. if he hadnt been such an arse hole and she wouldnt have been bothered with them. regardless imo the real problem is the type of person who gets in control of the unions. theyre nearly all a bunch of working class crooks.

To be honest, the only French labels I like are Faconnable and Guy Laroche now, and even then there are better Italian brands for similar money, I'd have thought. I'm bored of Lacoste. NewMan is boring too. Never like Dior. Always thought YSL was too chavvy and it's sold cheap as chips in sports shops these days. JPG I don't like. Louis Vuitton is just luxury leather bags for snotty nosed women with miniature dogs! Think it's going to be British and Italian all the way for me from now on.

Is anyone else on here as anal about country of origin/ manufacture of their stuff as I am?
