the reason gray market is cheaper is they charge less than the official distributor does. the distributor needs to charge more because they spend time energy and money to promote the brand and provide good service.

the gray marketer has no such expenses, but gets a free ride on the coattails of the official distributor.

i was reading that grey marketeers charge even more than the official distributors to satisfy demand from all the unofficial online sellers and they usually slip in counterfeits to boost their profits even more? anything unofficial can take it to the next level and play the duty-avoidance game but that's risky but then the whole grey market is risky.

the truth is there will always be a demand for high class euro fashion in the usa.
