Yeh defo! I wonder if it's some kind of symbol in Japan or something? Anyone know?
This was mentioned before (can't remember who tho!) but I'm sure I commented on them. Maybe if was Harry starting the thread?

is it the union of yin and yan?

why are evisu doing this when everyone knows their symbol as the gullwings?

They are the Sakie jeans and the symbols on the pockets are meant to symbolise life and death.

In Japanese it is called Mizuhiki and has a lot of history and significance tied to it (pun intended). This knot is ubiquitous in Japan so neither brand is copying anything other than Japanese cultural icons. For example at every wedding you will see the Mizuhiki knot which symbolizes a bond that cannot be broken. At funerals you will see another knot that can come undone that is symbolic of the spirit leaving the body.

Here is an interesting article on them >> PingMag - The Tokyo-based magazine about “Design and Making Things” Archive Masafumi Arita: The Renaissance of Mizuhiki

i dont find it strange at all. evisu started as a levi's replica brand anyway.
i think it was a great idea at the time, as vintage levis selvedge big E prices went thru the roof. but, started as a copy brand nonetheless.
