when the whiskering is to obvious and contrived the jeans look cheap.

i preferred ksubi when it was tsubi. i also agree that contrived whiskering and washes make the wear look contrived.

strange but true since changing from tsubi to ksubi the brands lost some of it's mystique and kudos. i think the fact that they got slapped down by tsubo might have something to do with it.

i know it's weird tsubi i rate but for some reason i just can't rate ksubi - bizarre

i have to add something here:
I bought a pair of tsubi's a few years back around 2004/05
and even though I worn them to bits ( literally..... poor quality actually imo)
the whiskers looked and still look VERY, VERY contrived!!! So I do not think they where better before in that department.
Just another brand with a hype and they couldn't keep it up....
