i dont like velcro shoes/trainers as i think it makes the shoe too kiddie like

Prefer the look of laces although there are some really nice velcro trainers out there.
I purchased some tan/light brown shoes (a little bit of a trainer style) with velcro ages ago, but only recently started to wear them. I don't think they look too bad - I wear them to drive during the day as they are very comfortable.
I think it depends on the type of shoe/trainer. As you can get some appaling shoes & trainers with velcro for old people/disabled people and they look VERY BAD! Then you get some really nice looking ones.

i got a beautiful pair of velcro hugo boss casual shoes last year. the most comfortable shoes ever.
