levi jeans on ebay

Old Levi’s jeans, found in a paper bag in an abandoned California gold mine, sold for $36,099 on eBay last week. The pair of jeans dated from the 1890’s and were “covered in candlewax from the candles the miner was using to light the tunnel he was working in” according to the unidentified seller. The starting bid was $9.99. Levi’s company historian (yes, when a company is that old, there is a company historian) Lynn Downey told WWD that the jeans appeared to be a pair of Levi’s 201 jeans.

i wonder if they were fakes

Hi,

i hear about this, a few months ago I meet the guy who found the first 'miner levis' he runs a fabric business out of his front room, the money he made selling the jeans he bought a bunch or old power looms and makes vintage cloth patterns selling them to Re-Con groups and reenactment clubs.....makes a great 50/50 cotton linen shirting too.

Met the Levi history lady too at a thing in San Fran, a few years back, she has scary knowledge!!!

This was a un-certified Levi find

No, not a fan, the show it's to big for me, I'll be in LA and then across to New York for some business then back to the UK and on to Paris to get some work done.

it's one of if not the biggest in the world, but to me that means there a lot of crap to wade through to find the gold, the process is different in the US and the stores has all looking for a quick and short buying season, to gt back to selling and making money in the tight economy there, there are a lot of other shows in Vegas at the same time but due to the size of Magic and the size of Vegas, you'd be lucky to get to more that three of them.

the fringe shows are always worth a look. i would like to visit magic one day.

the smaller shows are better for the buyers and the brands, but the US likes it BIG and magic is big....

most of the smaller brands talked about on here will show and be lost in the mass of rubbish, Paris is a better show ground, all small shows, the labels get to put the ideas and talk about there ideas and stories, with the buyer and other brands.
