I'm feeling these, the white line looks slick. Anybody any idea on quality?

Is the white line the selvedge?

The thing that puts me off is the bright red waistband lining! I can't get past that.

So if that's the selvedge, why not use it for the legs as 'normal'?

Obviously they could be trying to be different but why would they then cuff them?
