I'd prefer Italy. How would you like a swap with a pad in Bristol?

well, let's say that i spent loads of summers in the uk, but my knowledge and vocabulary still need some work... i was born in bergamo and since then i've never lived nowhere else ....

however, i can understand why Italy seems to be so appealing to all you guys.... great seaside locations, excellent food (i mean, you can't say you've ever tried real pizza untill you come to italy), some of the greatest car engineering masterpieces (bugatti, ferrari, fiat's multijet engines) and all these famous fashion designers... but you can't really see what's wrong here untill you spend at least more than a year living here...

italian culture tends to refuse everything may seem to be too different from its standards. some examples:

MUSIC: people didn't even know that hip hop was music before 50 cent's blow up back in 2003. you wanna go clubbing??? ok, then here you might choose between..... uhm, something like 15 different types of house music places and maybe just one small, overcrowded and unkown club where they play some black music.

FASHION: people here simply don't know shit about fashion. i mean, when it comes to denim here everybody thinks that D&G (not dolce & gabbana, so not even the first line choice) is hot just beacuse it's D&G. the same with other brands like Armani Jeans, 92 by Carlo chionna, Guess (when was the last time you heard of it?), Tommy Denim (not evene the main line), levis (not the vintage line, again), Diesel... but nobody knows anything about evisu (well, let's say that everybody thinks that evisu is an italian brand), samurai, red monkeys, edwin, sugar cane, year of.... NOT EVEN TRUE RELIGION OR ROCK & REPUBLIC.

SPORTS: football, football, football.... and then what? football again (by the way, atalanta is bergamo's official football team, and its supporters are italy's official biggest dickheads)

CARS: what's hot? get yourself a useless mini cooper s and everybody will look at you like a god. otherwise, a lancia ypsilon will do the work (google them, have a good look then have a good laugh...)

basically, what's really good here????
