Default RL Merino wool knit, dry clean?

Anybody know if a RL knit made of Merino wool can be hand washed in cold water. I've seen a nice brown one online on 2 sites and one states it's a dry clean garment. Surely you can wash it by hand in cold water.

I've got a couple of other jumpers (Aqua, Lacoste) that are 100% Merino wool and they are hand wash so what's the difference with the RL jumpers. Is it that they are poor quality so then we are advised to dry clean because it will shrink a lot.

Let's see... [digging in the knitting basket]
Hand wash (temperature not specified), don't use bleach on it, can iron, dry clean using any solvent except trichloroetylene, don't tumble dry.

Are these directions straight from a RL Merino knit wash label?

That's what I had hoped. Can't see cold water shrinking it anyway.
