Default Recommend me a formal coat (please!)

I'm looking for a nice formal 3/4 length, full length coat primarily for work. Would like it to be either pure wool or a wool mix (cashmere, silk, etc). Does anyone have any good recommendations. I'm willing to spend quite a bit on the right coat but I don't want to get silly.

Thanks chaps!

am probably not the right guy to answer this....
try J.Lindeberg; I bought a black 3/4 length coat last season (in the sale)
they have a few classic yet contemporary styles going. or had at least, haven't looked in to their collection this autumn.
but try to go to one of the department stores- wherever you are based-I think that would be the best idea.
you get most of the best brands under one roof and you can try and decide after that.
selfridges in london is good: mens formal and mens contemporary is on the same floor.
good luck!!
and post some pictures when done!!!!!!

Don't know if this is below the sort of level you would normally source your clothing but have you considered places like TK Maxx? They often have lots of 3/4 coats for men from lots of designer companies and of course are very well priced. If you really have a lot to spend then i don't think you could go wrong with a Gucci but that is totally the other end of the scale. Any ideas what you were looking at price wise?

Thanks guys, the boss one is fantastic - I'll have to go into the Boss shop when I'm next back in the UK. Price-wise I suppose the max is 1000GBP but it woul have to be something really, really nice for me to go for that. I did see a nice Burberry coat last time I was back for 400gbp so that could be an option. I've tried TKMaxx a few times but I have never found any nice coats there usually but of course it just depends on when you go as their stock is changing all the time.

Thanks for the tips guys, I'll let you know what I end up with.
