Hello,

Can't answer that, not sure on the company ownership, I know who owns it but do not know who has 'invested' in the brand or who does there corporate PR.....

there is a lot of this kind of deal making more than I feel comfortable about and it mainly in the UK and USA, in Japan the relationships are more 'family' and the inter-relationship between companies are better understood and know.

this stuff is BAD for the business and should be stopped, it assumes that the punters are stupid and all the companies will keep there mouth shut about it ( the second is sadly true). Clothing business is a bit too scared of it's self, all Emperor new clothes stuff, if no one says anything then no one looks stupid, truth is it's a few bigger companies trying to screw over the customers and make themselves feel bigger than they are and the power of the PR spin.

how would this happen? would everyone be asked to name their top 3 brands or would we need to create categories?

let's create a list of categories. michael has suggested: classic, streetwear, shoes

i would choose: designer brand, streetwear, footwear, accessories, denim, green/eco, sportswear

the idea is good but it needs to be streamlined so just a few cats: designerwear, streetwear and footwear in mens and womens groups.
