you cant rough-it as much in cotton trousers as you can in jeans. they'll just fall apart, that's the main issue with wearing these as denim alternatives.

good point, most of us forget that jeans are as tough as nails and the "real" wear and tear is what makes them special.

the reason denim is the number 1 material is because it is so tough and wears well. nothing compairs!
