Is LUKE 1977 stuff made in the UK? Ive checked all my labels on my stuff and none of them say where the stuff is made. Just has the words "A Product of the wild West Midlands". Am I to assume they are made in the UK then?

I know Duchamp hand make their ties in England - not sure about the shirts?

I was going through some suitcases in the loft this week and found some really old Nike tees from about 10+ years ago (really do need to sort out stuff in the loft instead of leaving it up there for years!). Anyway all the Nike tees were Made in the UK!! This shocked me as I always assumed large brands like this used cheap labour the other side of the World.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think I remember reading that if products are sold in the UK they don't have to have a made in tag. USA does require this along with other info - RN numbers etc, which is why most brands put made in on the tags as they sell in the USA aswell.
Anyone clarify?

I could understand product "made" in the UK being "sold" in the UK not requiring tags, but surely if the clothing was manufactured in say China, they would have to be tagged as made in China for exporting back to the UK? Otherwise products from River Island ( I am only aware of River Island being a UK based store) branded River Island, that was made in China by an OEM manufacturer wouldn't need tags either, but they have them inside their garments? Interestingly my RMC T shirts just say "Made By Martin Ksohoh" no mention of Hong Kong at all either???
