No, hence why you have Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Ferrari in that order. Profits are all going to the same company, but a brand has to have focus to be successful.

isn't that why a lot of brands have mainline and diffusion line to cater for all the different price points. this has been said here a million times but look at armani

giorgio armani
armani collezioni
armani jeans
emporio armani
ajx

all the same company but different price points.
