Default Leather Jacket Tailors/Adjustment

I've just bought a leather jacket,

but have a slight problem, as this leather jacket does not have a band or rib going around the bottom, thus when i have it open it tends to flair out at the back.. rather then stick to the back...

when it's closed its fine.. just when its open...

any chance this can be fixed by a tailor.. if so anyone know of any good leather tailors in london?

Thanks in advance!!!

How was you thinking it could be fixed? By adding an elasticated waist?

BTW, welcome.

well that could be one option, or maybe if it needs to be pulled in a bit... or if something heavy needs to be added at the bottom... cos it's hard to say exactly whats causing it to go up..

Silly question this but what sort of shape is your body? If you have a big chest and small waist or a shallow chest and big waist then the fit will be very different and that will determine to some point what you can do to fix the problem. I think its more likely you will have to disguise the problem somehow because I cannot see how a tailor will make an alteration to change it. Only way clothes will really fit is to have them bespoke made.

I'll take a photo tonight and get it uploaded, in the meantime i've done a mini graphics in mspaint to explain the problem, might have a better understanding (attached to this post)

haha the change won't help

I'm a slim, not skinny but not average medium, just slim, the jackets a slim fit! and fits like amazinlgy perfect! even when it's closed, and open, but when its open it jus flairs out.. I totally understand your point about being big chested, butin my case it's like all straight top to bottom, so don't c why it would flair out..

The pictures do illustrate the problem well. Wondering if the leather is quite stiff and maybe this is responsible. perhaps with wear it will soften and the leather will relax more. Have you only worn it a couple of times so far?

this forum just got to be the friendliest ever, have you guys thought about that ??
we don't even piss on new comers. not so much anyway.....
it is very unusual looking at other forums.

in regards to your jacket: am sorry can't help but as dunny says it might soften up a bit with time.
perhaps even go check the other jackets...it might be something wrong with the seam being to tight or something!?
