what are your reasons to go vegetarian?
You simply don't like meat is one reason and does not mean you can't wear leather shoes.
for animal rights reasons then another story.

Yeah you are kinda in a difficult position really, I mean can a devout Christian also be involved in evolution studies, given that they are to believe that the story of Adam and Eve is the truth?

Do they use the meat for something else in the calfs they use for leather?

Or is it one industry for the food market and one for the leather market?

if they raise the calves for meat they then sell the skins to other industries. some calves are raised for their skin and then the meat is sold for pet food (and probably gets into the human food chain too - im looking at you piccadilly street vendor man)
