the bottom line is fakes speak volumes about a persons character, or lack of it.

i was told in the industry that someone tried to trademark fapesta in the clothing/footwear category. i wonder whether a conman has ever managed to trademarked a name close to his "host" brand? say like george armani?

I expect any similar likeness wouldnt be allowed either, but having said that what if a genuine guy who was really called George Armani started a clothing brand and named it after himself, wouldnt that be a little unfair on him?

it depends. if you can get in early enough in a different region you can get away with it. like the old hugo boss issue in the uk where a company had the brand hugo registered in the uk which caused all kinds of problems for hugo boss.
