Default Designer clothes + Body shape

What is your body shape and do you feel that designer brands discriminate against your body shape?

Im 6' 3" and 15 stone and I feel there's not enough choices for me in designer clothes. The only brand that seems to make any effort is Hugo Boss.

Totally agree with you!

Starsailor - what standard size are you & what size trousers (waist & leg)?

Try Rochester or High & Mighty. They have the largest selection of clothing for the bigger or taller man. Ralph Lauren, Versace, burberry, Versace, Paul & shark, Calvin klein, Levis, Wrangler, Pierre Cardn.

I'm a just over 6'1 & over 22 stone! About a 46 waist.
I'm a big all round guy - but play rugby so am fit & strong.

Ever since I was younger & smaller I had a bit of trouble getting designer gear. Now it's very limited - have to go to specialist big & tall stores. There is no way near enough choice for people outside the s-xxl size range. With the world's population growing in size compared to 50 years ago - by that I mean height, weight, ladies getting larger up top (no complaints here!) etc. I think they should try to cater for these groups as well as those at the other end of the scale (shorter/slimmer). There are only a handful of brands that actually go into this market.

There is obviously demand for it & can be more profitable due to it being specialist. The brands just don't want to ruin their images of thin girls & 6 pack boys!

So isn't this descrimination? We don't allow people to decriminate against colour, sex, sexuality, beliefs etc so why is it happening with peoples sizes!

i have the same issue with designer brands. if just one designer brand was to analyse the market as a whole and design a strategic line for larger men and women they would clean up. but as you rightly say cd the brands are petrified because they're all brain-washed into believing skinny is beautiful.

Well, you must remember that this issue is a problem only for a very limited group of people. I don't have this kind of problems since I'm 183cm tall and my weight is just a bit over 60 kilos. I love to be skinny, I love skinnies and I think the most beautiful people happend to be skinnies.

BTW, I really don't understand a thing about those stones and bones, so what are they at the modern times unit of measures?

CD my size really fluctuates but i have always been extra BIG, which i'm very comfortable with but i just wish one or two designer brands would make more of an effort to accommodate bigger guys and girls. i'm convinced they would make a real financial killing.

I don't really know if you regard Lacoste as a designer label, but they have quite a huge sizes. As well as Versace and Tommy Hilfiger.
