If the seller doesn't have 100% positive feedback, chances are its a fake. Also if the price seems to good to be true, it proberly is!

From my expereince I wouldn't even bother trying to contact four marketing - they don't care about their customers therefore they don't care about their brands reputation!

Check this thread out :
http://kitmeout.com/fashion_talk/viewtopic.php?t=1036

Can you post some pics or give us the ebay item number so we can view it if its still on ebay's system?

Does it have the Sportswear Company Spa label?

The jacket I got had a label in it saying about it only being manufatured in ??? (can't remember) but the testing, development, designing, styling, etc was all still done in Italy.

What is the fabric (% mix?)?

What is the Stone Island label like on the neck? Does it have an embroidered number or a die cut number?

What about the badge & buttons? - compare with your other ones.

Look at the seams & how they are sewn -again compare with your others.

Hope this gives you some pointers to look at - but best thing is to post pics or give us the ebay number so we can look at the listing.

How do you know it's fake, what's the iten munber for ebay. If you have SI gear already you should know straight away if it's fake. I know for a fact that some SI stuff is now made in other countries and usually it states this inside the garments, pretty much what "CD" said about his jacket. Made in Romanian, Tunisia or Morrocco would be stated on the SPA tag with another little tag underneath saying that the testing, designing, development etc.. was done in Italy. These are genuine goods and not fake. Most of the fake SI on ebay don't even have the serial number in the neck just the white label with Stone Island wrote on. I have on a few occasions seen one with the size label attached to it, i mean how stupid are the people who buy this crap.

the other problem is most parallel imports have the labels removed so they cant be traced so you can find real si without the proper labels :?

the uk is swamped with stone island parallel imports but at least its better than buying fakes. does anyone know why parallel imports are necessary? why dont stone island just make enough so theres no need for parallel imports?

Parallel imports - it's ALL to do with PRICE!

Consumers want a bargain in the already over priced UK!

With prices abroad alot cheaper due to exchange rates & taxes etc - people can import products from abroad, make a profit & still sell them to the consumer for far less than striaght from an authorised UK shop.

There are so many things cheaper in other countries than in the UK. CD's, aftershave, DVD's, XBox/PS2 & other consules etc etc. They're not just a little cheaper but sometimes by over 50% cheaper than here in the UK.

Take iTunes - UK 79p, Germany & France 68p, US 51p, Canada 41p thats 48% cheaper!

But with companies now restricting this - making them 'only to be sold in certain countries' or putting surchages on items from outside particular regions they are creating even more profit from us!

It's the same with designer clothing - the brands try to limit this from happening so they can increase their profit. But what they don't realise is that their profits would actaully drop as less people would/could spend alot more.
e.g 10 people by SI jacket at £200 = £2000
but only 5 people buy SI jacket at £300 = £1500

But whilst consumers want to save money in rip off Britain - there will always be demand for parallel imports.

It's not illegal but the brands/companies don't like it as they don't have control over their products - therefore profits. That's why codes, labels, tags etc sometimes are partly removed - so it can't be traced back to the authorised distributor, seller etc abroad.

I personally don't have a problem with parallel imports - I think it's a good way to get something cheaper. Perhaps the brands should lower their prices in line with the rest of Europe!
