Good idea - but could cause problems!
1 - the p&p costs. the item would have to be sent recorded post to the 'moderator', then back to the seller (by recorded post), then sent to the buyer (RP). By the time you add these prices they are going to be alot! The item may even cost more (due to all the p&p) than striaght from a shop.
2 - what's to stop a seller sending the mod a genuine product & then sell fakes to everyone!
I said it before - theres loads of people that use this forum & have a good knowledge of designer clothes. So if you are in any doubt about an item, post pics or the ebay item number on here - so we can give advise.
But the main thing to do is carefully check their feedback - don't just look at for negative or netral comments. Sometimes people will leave positive feedback, even though they have been sold a fake. They'd do this if they new they were buying a fake or didn't want a negative feedback left against them or even because the delivery was quick but it was a fake.
It just amazes me how people can sell blatent fakes & how people fall for them. Ebay does nothing to stop fakes. I just typed in Louis Vuitton, 2854 items on ebay! How many of those are fake? 2853 - 2854? Yet ebay get a £1-2 for every listing + any PayPal fees. So the ebay company probably makes £4+ on every one of those! Thats about £10,000 - £12,000. If they got rid of them & only allowed genuine LV's they'd get £4!!!!
I can't believe that the police (from around the world) & trading standards don't do more!
Ebay say :
"Please remember that,
although we are commonly referred to as an online auction web site, we
are not a traditional auction house. Instead, our site acts as a venue
to allow anyone to offer, sell, and buy just about anything, at anytime,
from anywhere, in a variety of formats, including a fixed price format
and an auction-style format commonly referred to as an "online listing."
eBay is not involved in the actual transaction between buyers and
sellers. As a result, we have no control over the quality, safety or
legality of the items advertised the truth or accuracy of the listings,
the ability of sellers to sell items or the ability of buyers to buy
items."
If a nightclub or pub allowed drugs to be sold on their premises they would be shut down - no question! So why isn't action taken against ebay? They say they have no control over what is sold - perhaps by banning all LV products for a start! Ebay have become so big they are imunne to any laws!
